My first favorite 2016 product that brought is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette. This is the first palette that I got not long after the release. This palette has been my holy grail all year with its warm neutrals and pink/reds. The shadows are easy to blend, and highly pigmented. This palette retails for $42 USD which converted to New Zealand dollars is $60.94.
My second favorite product that I was extremely late on the bandwagon with is Hoola by Benefit Cosmetics. I had been contemplating on whether or not to buy this product but after seeing so many youtubers rave about it I went and ordered it and I will never look at another bronzer the same! This bronzer is perfect for fair girls like me as a contour color. It goes on smoothly without going patchy. Although I am not a fan of the packaging as I think its too small and the brush is a bit stupid! The product itself though makes up for the packaging. Another pro of this product is you do not need a lot of product on your brush, A little goes a long way! This products retails for $29 USD on the Benefit Website. I personally purchased this product on Adore Beauty which retailed for $51 NZD which is quite pricey but as I said a little goes a long way with gorgeous bronzer
Lets talk skincare! There wasn't many products in 2016 that I brought that Wowed me unfortunately. A friend of mine recommended herbalism from Lush to me so I ran out to the mall and brought it having extremely high hopes and let me tell you I was not dissapointed! Im usually pretty useless when it comes to my skin care routine i know, I know, its so bad! I usually would just buy Nivea face wash that does nothing to benefit my skin. My skin is very oily and I have acne prone skin. I used this day and night to cleanse my face and this is the oily product I have used that I have actually seen a difference in my skin. My skin cleared up tremendously within 2 weeks. I'm not saying it was a miracle cure for my pimples but it certainly calmed them down. I also was using Mask of Magnanimity once a week on top of this and it is now my holy grail combination that I have discovered. Herbalism retails for $19.50 for 100g of product. With this product you only need to use a pea size amount so once again a little goes a long way!
Highlighter! Getting my glow on in 2016 was the best makeup "trend" to go viral. Before 2016 I had no clue what highlighting even was. One of my favorite highlighting palettes was the Sleek Solstice Palette. The main reason I love this palette so much is because it is extremely affordable. In this palette you get two baked powders, one cream formula, and one shimmer powder all for $27 NZD. These highlights leave a gorgeous sheen to your skin.
Another product I fell in love with was the Too Faced Born this way foundation. This foundation is full coverage but not cakey! The way I like to apply this foundation is with my Sigma F80 brush to get a full coverage finish. This product retails for $40 USD which is $58 NZD
Last but not least is the maybelline lash sensational mascara. I don't have too much to say about this apart from it gives my lashes a lot of volume. It doesn't necessarily lengthen them though. This product I believer retails for over $20 NZD
I hope everyone enjoyed my first blog post, I know its a long one! xo
